Free cloud backup ? - yes we can
Orbital have decided to offer free offsite backup for customer servers under contract support.
This service will be available for Mac PC and Linux Servers as long as they are covered by support they will be backed up for absolutely no cost to yourselves.
There are a few things you should be aware of (these issues are mac specific and not of any great importance for document and archiving backups).
1/ This is an emergency backup and should not be a substitute for a proper rotating or fully functioning offsite backup that is totally mac compatible.
2/ Some older mac files (mostly 10 year old fonts) will be shreded by the backup and so will not restore.
3/ To avoid the above minor problems you will need a premium backup solution.
That said it will backup most data and allow a restore of documents such as illustrator, photoshop, word, pages etc without issue.
We are providing this as a free service with every confidence that within the above limits it will work without error.
Please ensure you also have a your ususal backup proceedure in place
