AD / OD Integration

 

First Steps
AD / OD Integration brings you fully integrated single sign on across mac's and PC's from you AD server. Mac users log in and their accounts are held on the mac server, however their windows home is mounted as a network drive as are shared Resource drives from the AD Master.

Students or users do not need to be trusted to move work onto a drive and all files are kept on the Mac server. This allows total control of the user experience but keeps the single AD sign on.

Also all services are kerberised so using single sign on all services can be accesssed.

Further for those applications such as video and sound editing all temporary files are cached locally allowing all problems with caching to be eliminated.

 

Our Engineers
Our engineers are trained to do this, however you will find many companies will persuade you to set up your macs differently possibly utilising the Windows home directory as the default mac home directory, this would be a mistake and will severely curtail any uses you might want to put the macs to. Also you will not be able to control the macs as smartly and efficiently as you can with a proper AD/OD integration
