Designers face a few issues when they start to use hundreds if not thousands of fonts.

These issues are handled pretty well under OS X Leopard which has dramatically improved font handling, however even then you do need extra help in the shape of a font management program.

Not all Font Management Programs are created equal, and even the good ones run into trouble.
